Online trauma therapy in Ohio
MOVE BEYOND YOUR PAST.
You’re tired of feeling like you can’t escape the past.
It’s like you can’t let go of what you’ve been through.
Life after a traumatic experience is painful. Days, weeks, or years can past and you continue to feel as if what happened just occurred yesterday. You do what you can to manage, but you still experience intrusive thoughts or memories. It feels like the smallest things set you off, whether they’re related to what happened or not. Connecting with others feels impossible, either because you can’t trust or you fear being harmed again. Even if you know what happened isn’t your fault, you still feel guilt and anger towards yourself. All you want is to be able to live fully in the present again, but the events of the past just won’t let you go.
Sound like you?
Always feeling guilty, ashamed, afraid, or depressed?
Tired of feeling disconnected and unsafe?
Can’t keep the thoughts and memories out of your head?
Struggling with the impacts of trauma?
Trauma therapy can help.
The effects of trauma do not have to be permanent. Therapy that focuses on helping you process what you experienced reduces the impact it has on you and allows you to finally live in the present and hope for the future. In trauma therapy with me, you’ll build skills to help you calm your nervous system and decrease reactions, learn how to identify and challenge distorted beliefs, and work to release what you’ve been holding onto for so long.
Trauma therapy can…
Help reduce the emotional intensity of the memories related to what you experienced
Calm your nervous system, improving emotion regulation and your ability to connect with yourself, others, and the joys of life.
Rewire your brain away from painful patterns to more adaptive, healthy ones.
Allow you to release the hold the past has had on you so you can be in the present.
You don’t need to “move on” from your past, you need to move through it. And together, we’ll get you to that place you’ve been searching for: a safe present and hopeful future.

Frequently Asked Questions About Trauma Therapy
-
Trauma is a lasting response to deeply distressing events that overwhelm a person’s ability to cope. Some people believe trauma can only occur after exposure to a life-or-death situation. I believe trauma is not only exclusive to these types of events, but can also develop after experiences such as neglect, abuse, and or even long periods of intense stress. We don’t get to decide what traumatizes us; it is based on our brain, body, and nervous system’s interpretations of what has happened to us.

While the term trauma therapy can include a broad range of therapies, all of them are focused on the same outcome: helping people process past trauma in order and restore connection and safety.
I specialize in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist people process their trauma, but also blend in somatic techniques, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people learn skills to regulate their nervous system and ways to observe and challenge distorted thinking.
