Meet Annie

Annisa (Annie) Brown, LPCC

My journey to becoming a mental health provider began at the age of 16, when I happened to take an elective Psychology course offered by my high school. Mental health was not something I was familiar with at this point in my life, but it was this class that introduced me to the topic and made me realize this was the field I wanted to work in. For me, working in mental health is not just about hearing people’s stories, but about walking with them, supporting them, and guiding them on their paths to healing.

In the 5+ years since becoming a licensed counselor, I have been able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and with many different mental health concerns in a community mental health setting. I have also done work as an on-campus counselor at a local college branch campus. I have found, however, that my true passion is working with people who have been impacted by trauma or extremely negative life events, helping them process their experiences so they may return to a place of connection, safety, and resilience. I am honored every day to be able to walk with my clients on their journeys to mental well-being.
