Hi, I’m Annie

I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor from Ohio. My approach to therapy is rooted in a genuine curiously and open-mindedness for people’s stories, as well as the idea that connection is healing.

I firmly believe that within our brains, bodies, and nervous systems, we have a natural capacity to heal our emotional and mental wounds. It is trauma and overwhelming stress that become stuck that block us from these abilities, leaving us disconnected from ourselves, others, and life itself. Connecting with someone in a safe, supportive, and grounded environment allows you to begin exploring and processing experiences in order to remove these blocks and rediscover what has been lost, silenced, or hidden away.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, overwhelming stress, or have experienced trauma, know that healing is possible. And it doesn’t have to be done alone. I’m here to help you on your journey to reconnection and resilience.

  • Collaboration, right from the start

    Before we even start any work together, I offer all prospective clients a free, 15-minute phone consultation. This allows you to get a deeper sense of who I am, allows me to get a better understanding of what you’re looking for, and ensures I am the right fit for you and your needs.

    If it is decided I can assist you in the ways you need, we will then set up an initial appointment. This first meeting is an extended, 90-minute session to allow time for us to explore where you have been, what’s currently going on, and clarify where you want to be. We’ll work together to create a plan to help get you there, and this plan will be our road map as we set off on your healing journey together.

    From the start, my process focuses on you. You know your story best, and only you can decide what you need and where you want to go. I am here to listen, support, guide, and be a source of connection as you learn to reconnect with yourself

  • A Blended Approach

    I draw from several modalities of therapy in my work. This allows me to have a broad range of tools and ideas in my toolkit to choose from. Therapy should not be a one-size-fits-all process and instead should attempt to meet you where you are. I tailor what we do to what you need, to ensure the best outcomes possible. Some of the forms of therapies and methods I regularly use include EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Somatic Techniques. I also work from a foundation that is person-centered and heavily grounded in Poly-Vagal Theory, as well as IFS informed.

    In addition to the evidence-based methods I utilize, I am also a big believer in incorporating what is important to you into our work together. This can look like integrating your spiritual beliefs into the healing process, allowing space for you to share your writing, art, music, or other creative endeavors to help you express yourself and make meaning, or finding ways to use your interests and activities in healing ways. Incorporating the things that are important to you into the therapy process further helps you to reconnect with yourself and build your resilience.
